About Dr. Tathagata Bose

Dr. Tathagata Bose did his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Bankura Sammilani Medical College and Hospital (BSMCH), one of the oldest medical colleges in India.

He completed Masters (DNB) in Orthopaedics from the Medica Superspecialty Hospital, Kolkata. There, he was exposed to a wide variety of orthopedic problems and their management. He developed an interest in the orthopedic problems in paediatric and hand subspecialty. He was also awarded as a Member of National Academy of Medical Science (India) (MNAMS) in the year 2026.

During his masters he developed interest in paediatric orthopedics as he was a student of Dr Anirban Chatterjee, who is a renowned paediatric and hand surgeon and a national figure.

Dr. Bose decided to go for fellowship, as he wanted to do paediatric orthopedics, as he knew that paediatric orthopedics as a subspecialty is very much neglected and there are very few exclusive paediatric orthopedic surgeons in eastern india.

Following his senior residency, he trained for 1 year (Clinical Fellowship) under Dr Soumya Paik in Kolkata (KIDS Orthopedic Clinic) to get specialized training in paediatric orthopedics. There he learned the most advanced treatment in Paediatric Orthopaedics.

He has continued his research work by publishing regularly, which vouch for his academic interests. He has also presented papers at the state orthopedic association conferences, apart from regularly participating in group discussions, case presentations and journal clubs.

He has shown organisational capabilities as well by being a part of courses and workshops in the field of pediatric orthopedics organised in Kolkata from time to time.

He has now joined Dr Soumya Paik at KIDS Orthopedic Clinic as a consultant paediatric orthopedic surgeon.
